Brisbane Flute Studio makes a Sea Change

My family and I are so excited to be living right on the water at Birkdale in beautiful Moreton Bay. My flute students will get to see a new stunning view of boats and blue water when they visit Brisbane Flute Studio from now on. I am expecting to teach more local students from the Redlands region, but it is still easy for anyone in the Brisbane flute community to visit. We have plenty of parking available in our lovely quiet street and it is only a short walk to Birkdale train station.

Beethoven for Beyondblue

I was privileged to play principal flute in the Beethoven for Beyondblue orchestra performance, on Sunday 30 July, 2017 in St Stephen’s Cathedral, Brisbane. The stunning Beethoven Violin concerto was played brilliantly by our soloist Warwick Adeney (concertmaster of Queensland Symphony Orchestra). After a well-earned break, the orchestra performed the rollicking 7th Symphony in the second half. A wonderful acoustic, fine musicians, great camaraderie and an important cause made for a memorable musical experience.

Congratulations to all my fellow musicians and in particular, Matthew Schwarz our young conductor and driving force behind the Beethoven for Beyondblue project. I am looking forward to future collaborations.
